“Thank you Microsoft.”
I am a Windows user, but not necessarily by choice. I was born and bred as an Apple user, buying an Apple IIC “portable” computer when I was 14. I learned how to program on them in High School and was given a real live Apple laptop when I took my first job out of college.
Every job after that, however, was dominated by Windows machines. I’ve learned to live with them and even *gasp* to master them a bit. But Microsoft products too often leave me feeling, “Eh – you got close, but didn’t quite hit the mark” or “Damn it, why do you keep crashing?!?!”
But I just downloaded and installed Windows Live Writer. It allows you to create blog posts – even see them in the installed theme of your blog software – even when you are offline. You can do all of the cool stuff – insert hyperlinks, pictures, photo albums, maps, videos, etc. but it is way easier than using your blogging software interface (in my case, WordPress).
Once you are done writing your blog post, it is uploaded to your blogspace with the click of a button. Very cool.
So – yes – thank you Microsoft…this time.
