Career and College Mini-Course Results

I co-authored a short career and college exploration course that included integration of the Naviance online college and career exploration toolset. In addition to co-authoring the content I served as the instructional designer of the course, creating lessons using the Udutu toolset (www.udutu.com) and delivering the course to thousands of students via the eCollege learning management system. Here are just a few of the results that course produced:

• Decrease in “don’t know” responses when students were asked about post high school plans (from 32% to 23%)
• Strong positive response to “helpfulness” of the course across all areas on a likert scale of 1 to 7
• Increased levels of planned post secondary education attributed to FYP course across levels in about half of students (from no college to some college 10%, from some college to a AA, 12.3% etc)
