About me

Thanks for visiting my site. There’s a lot out of flashy stuff to check out on the Internet – I’m honored you’re spending a few minutes here.

I live in Montgomery county in Pennsylvania with my wife and two young boys. You can feel bad for my wife – the boys and I won’t take it personally. :-)

During the day, I am the Director of High School Instruction for a large online curriculum provider/school provider (whose views – by the way – are not necessarily reflected on this blog or site). My work there focuses heavily on training teachers to be effective online teachers and the analysis of the effectiveness of their work. Training topics range from the use of proprietary online tools and curriculum, to the use of off-the-shelf learning management systems and other tools and techniques to meet their students’ learning goals. Most recently I have focused on how to effectively differentiate instruction in an online environment.

My interest is in understanding and designing educational environments, online learning, distance learning and distributed learning, teacher professional development, the use of technology in/for/outside the classroom, and in the application of new ways of learning through the application/integration of technology.
